Accessible Law Enforcement Simulation Training; FATS Opens First Training Center in Memphis Press Release

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 2004--FATS, Inc. opens its first virtual training center at the Memphis Police Training Academy in Memphis, Tenn., in late June. The center offers law enforcement officers the benefits of extensive FATS simulation training, including use-of-force, combined with live fire marksmanship training conducted by FATS experts.

"Tight government budgets do not always allow departments to purchase our virtual training systems," says FATS, Inc. CEO Ron Mohling. "The Memphis training center will allow more officers to gain the valuable skills they need to better protect their communities and themselves."

The Training Academy will offer cost-effective judgmental use-of-force and firearms training with FATS simulated scenarios. Students are exposed to lifelike situations that can increase heart rate and adrenaline levels, making training extremely realistic. The scenarios force them to think quickly and improve their judgmental skills, and the branched scenarios mean no two training sessions are alike.

The students will use FATS simulated weapons that replicate form, fit and function of live weapons, including recoil. The systems' digital diagnostic tools; including point-of-aim, weapon status, trigger pressure and cant; give the instructors instant, accurate feedback so they can advise the student on corrective actions.

Students at the FATS Academy in Memphis will receive individual attention with low student/teacher ratios. The Training Academy will also offer live fire marksmanship courses taught by a FATS expert, who is a former world-class competitive shooter. The students will use their own weapons on the live fire range, training on structured courses of fire and moving targets. The structured course will contain lessons in cover and concealment, close quarters confrontation drills, defensive and offensive techniques and multiple target engagements.

Classes for up to 16 entry- to advanced-level students are offered in two-day packages. With years of shooting, training and real world experience, FATS instructors offer one of the best judgmental and marksmanship training programs available.
