Criminal Justice Careers... not just for the guys anymore! CJC Staff

This article is dedicated to all women interested in pursuing a criminal justice career. DID YOU KNOW? Until 1971, women were prohibited from holding certain law enforcement positions in the federal government that required carrying a firearm. Women in federal law enforcement face challenges today as great as those faced yesterday. As we grow in our professional and personal lives, we commit ourselves to developing the professional law enforcement abilities of the women and men who follow in our footsteps. Our combined strengths and knowledge are products of our various experiences and skills - learned from valued teachers and honed by our dedication to duty. Through direct interaction with our male colleagues, we hope to provide a better understanding of the unique problems and challenges faced by women in the law enforcement professions.

It is our hope and our wish that the organization continue to grow; that our members freely share and communicate with each other; and that we serve our Agencies, the public, and our communities well.

We invite you to explore our Web Site, contribute where you can, and join our dynamic and growing force in securing the future of women in federal law enforcement.
