
The Criminal Justice Careers Guide -Corinthian to Open Everest Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland
The new Everest Institute-Silver Spring will initially offer a diploma program in medical assisting to prepare students for careers in healthcare. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), careers in medical assisting are projected to be among the fastest growing occupations over the 2002-2012 period. The BLS estimates in the year 2002 medical assistants held approximately 365,000 jobs in the United States, and it expects this number to increase 59% to approximately 579,000 jobs by 2012.

Everest Institute-Silver Spring will be Corinthian's fifth new branch campus expected to open in fiscal 2005. Previously, Corinthian announced it plans to open six to seven new branch campuses in fiscal 2005. Corinthian expects the new Everest Institute campus to have a student population of approximately 400 within two years of its opening.
