FBI Special Agent Trainees ââ¬â The Academy While attending the academy recruits to become FBI Special Agents must live at the academy. Training consists of a wide range of training activities. In the classroom Special Agent Trainees will study a large variety of academic and investigative subject matter. In addition in order to become an FBI Special Agent you will be required to receive training in physical fitness, defensive tactics and the use of firearms.
FBI Special Agent Trainees will be given a physical fitness test during the first, seventh and fourteenth week of training. An FBI Special Agent Trainee who fails the test in week one are put in a special training program and subject to restrictions. One of the restrictions is the FBI Trainees isn't allowed to leave the academy overnight until he or she has passed the fitness test. If a Trainee fails the week one fitness test and the week seven fitness test then said Trainee is dismissed from the Special Agent Training Program.
Special Agent Trainees are paid as GS-10 on the Law Enforcement Officer's Salary Table.In addition they receive a 17.50% increase in pay due to the Quantico, Virginia high cost of living. The pay of an FBI Special Agent Trainee works out to be $51,043 annualized.
In order to graduate from the FBI Training Academy Special Agents must complete all of the training requirements. Upon graduation from the FBI Training Academy Trainees are sworn in as an FBI Special Agent.
