Job Hunting For C.J. Jobs @ Criminal Justice Careers Guide
Knowing what jobs are out there is half the battle. Make it a routine to check the Internet and local papers on a daily basis to see when jobs will be opening in your area or when entrance exams for criminal justice positions will be administered. Another option is stopping by law enforcement offices to inquire about openings. If handled correctly you will be able to make contacts at the office that may even go out of their way to call you when an opening is posted. If you cannot make it to your state, county or local police administration offices then pick up the phone and politely ask if they have any openings or if an entrance exam has been announced. Inquire about a mailing list to be notified of openings or examines.
Regardless of your criminal justice qualifications and how well the interview goes sometimes you will not get the job through no fault of your own. With smaller agencies sometimes they are only posting the ad to follow regulations and they may already have a candidate in mind which is often a friend or relative. Itâs important you keep your head up knowing that interviewing and job hunting is a process that may not end quickly. The key is to keep trying and one day youâll end with a rewarding criminal justice career.
