A career as a Bailiff may not sound as exciting as many careers, however the modern day Bailiff serves to protect the jury, Judge and witnesses in increasingly hostile environments. The Bailiff is in charge of checking the courtroom to make sure it is secure and in order. In addition while court is in order the Bailiff must enforce courtroom rules and behavior and warn anyone who disobeys the rules. The modern day Bailiff must also serve as a security check point to prevent unauthorized firearms from entering the courtroom.

As seen on TV the Bailiff is in charge of seeing to it the jury isn’t tampered with during trials including providing them escorts as needed while making sure they don’t come in contact with the public.
