Criminal Justice Career Option: Security Advisor

Security advisers advise clients on security requirements, recommend and design security specifications. Security advisers may carry out threat assessments on properties or companies; assess existing security systems; make recommendations to improve security; conduct surveillance;
design specifications to meet security requirements; check security installations to make sure they comply with regulations;
carry out electronic debugging or information security operations; carry out internal audits or other security functions within organisations; evaluate security system tenders.

Work Demand - Good vision for detail, including reading or writing
Work Field - Law, Security and Defence
Work Interest - Analytic or Scientific, Practical or Mechanical
Work Conditions - Security advisors are often 'on call' after hours and at weekends.
Personal Requirements - a sound character with no criminal or other convictions that would preclude obtaining/holding a license,
good communication and observation skills,
able to accept responsibility,
able to maintain control and composure in difficult situations.
