About the Online Campus

The University of Phoenix Online Campus is an outcome of the University's recognition of the technological transformation of the workplace and the needs of the working adult student. Rather than gathering in a traditional classroom, students and instructors interact electronically and asynchronously, resulting in increased access for students by allowing them to control the time and place of their participation.

University of Phoenix Online education is interactive and participative. Students are active members of a Learning Group of between eight and 14 working adults, and work in smaller Learning Teams for special projects. Students complete one course at a time, progressing to the next course in the same way as students who meet at our on-campus classrooms.

90,974 students were enrolled at the Online Campus as of November 30, 2003 .
